My Quick Tartar Sauce
You picked up a fish for dinner and you need a quick Tartare Sauce, this is it
Equipment
- 1 cutting board
- 1 chef knife
- 1 small sauce dish mix in the dish and serve
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp onion, finely chopped red or yellow
- 1 tbsp curly leaf parsley, finely chopped or flat leaf if you prefer
- 1 tbsp pimento, rough chopped
- 3 tbsp dill pickles relish more if desired
- 1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning optional
- 1 cup maynaise
- 1 tbsp lemon juice optional
- 1 tsp salt more if desired
- 1 tsp MSG optional
- 1 cayenne pepper, dusting optional
Instructions
Chopping
- chop onion on cutting board to coarse chop
- chop parsley on cutting board to coarse chop
- You can use your knife to pile up the onion and parsley
- Chop the combined onion and parsley to a fine chop
- On a section of your cutting board measure out the pimento and coarsely chop
Put it all together
- Put the pimento, onion and parsley in your serving bowl
- Measure in your dill relish
- Using a fork mix the ingredients
- Add the salt, pepper and MSG, mix well
- Add the spices and mix well
- Add mayonnaise by large spoonful's, folding in as you add it.
- Add the lemon juice
- As you fold in the mayonnaise watch for thickness. Add more or less of it to make the tartare sauce the way you like it

Notes
This is one of the simple sauces. It is basically mayonnaise and pickle relish. Usually it is dill pickle relish, but some use gherkins. All the rest of the ingredients build on the mayo and relish.
